Mind bending albums by Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze! The Age of Headphones LIVE 1 am tonight!
Related albums by Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze adorn the Age of Headphones again this week. This time it starts with Timewind, the 5th album by Schulze, and his first to use a sequencer. Sometimes considered an electronic version of an Indian raga, the album evolves slowly over the course of nearly 2 hours, with the purpose of invoking a timeless state in the listener. It has been described as a longer version of the "Movements of a Visionary Track" from Tangerine Dream's Phaedra. Of course, Phaedra will follow. The title track was an improvisation that gained some of its unique character from the warming of the oscillators, which caused them to detune. "Movements of a Visionary" is the 3rd track on the album, and relies on a Moog analog sequencer in place of a bass guitar. The show will run long, about 2 1/2 hours overall.
