#ManipulatingPopulationsHeritage 2019 edition of MPH happens tonight Sunday 22 July at 7PM USCDT on KAOS Radio Austin as we pay tribute to the Scopes Evolution Trial in the Mosh Pit Hell of Metal, Punk and Hardcore.
Enjoy metal as it evolved and experience the evolution of metal with population’s genetic heritage as we explore the the immortal Jimi Hendix who will help you experience what copious distortion and an incendiary personality helped set as a benchmark for heavy music to come. We’ll explore metal’s godfather trinity of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin before touring Britain’s dualing big guns Judas Priest and Iron fucking Maiden.
Each generation contributed to the next, each innovator provided something for the next to build upon. Music as a microcasm just in the “metal” genre evolved borrowing the most popular and influential aspects to birth the next new sound. We’ll borrow some from the west coast thrash scene and the foundations of death and grind before heading to Sweden for some melodeath enlightenment and taking to the pit with the bastions of groove. Meaning you can expect copious representation by the likes of At the Gates, Carcass, Death, Fear Factory, In Flames, Metallica, Megadeth, Meshuggah, Napalm Death, Slayer, and Testament. The mosh doesn’t stop there though as the NWOAHM at redefining the calculus of metal’s trajectory by using all of that to create bands like Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Slipknot, Mastodon, Gojira and more mosters of the ongoing metallic onslaught.
For your philanthropy assignment as part of the epi you will be exposed to the National Center for Science Education ncse.com and their efforts with Evolution as well as Climatology, another misunderstood topic that’s been bastardized by the ignorance of the conservative right. Learn what you can do to help bring knowledge to your community while you get your mosh on.
