Following from the last episode and my Last FM year-end chart for 2017, please find attached THE TINDER DIARIES #19 – BORDERS OF SALT counting down my Top 14 tracks for the first six months of 2018. Now this is the stuff that makes me feel like a proper DJ, like Casey Kasem or something.
So what have I been listening to this year, this year of turmoil? So soundtracking job interviews and days spent home alone I’ve been listening to Black Flag, The Breeders, Crass, Mudhoney, Prophets Of Rage, Public Image Limited, Sebadoh and Tom Waits. Lots of modern and new stuff then……
Its actually a pretty good bunch of songs. But then again so was the last lot.
The shows airs this Thursday 27 September 2018 at 5PM Austin and 11PM London with regular repeats rolling out sporadically going forward.
There’s hiatus and there’s HIATUS! For your approval this Thursday 13 September is THE TINDER DIARIES #18 – MIDNIGHT BELLS. I must admit its been on the shelf for a while. These were my Top 15 tracks for the year-ended 2017 as per my Last FM account. Unfortunately about that time things fell slightly apart as St John Restaurant unceremoniously snooped my social media and sacked me for the stupidest reasoning. The insanity of that decision remains affecting all parties today nine months later.
Needless to say 2018 has been a nightmare. I’ve met with the great and the good in an effort to get things back on track. Unfortunately not long into this procedure Abiola decided to have her latest tantrum and pulled her support likewise causing/creating a situation that also still affects all parties today. What can I say, it happens.
And don’t even get me started on the mismanagement and atrocious administration of the MBA I undertook by Essex University. We truly are in a time of education being primarily a money making pursuit and little else.
Over the course of this year I’ve met with and courted many different organisations such as Vice, Match.com, The Dau Project to name just a few in my pursuit of happyness Will Smith style.
So where are we? KAOS is still here and so am I. In this show you will hear tracks by the Allman Brothers, Bikini Kill, Black Flag, Bob’s Burgers, DJ Shadow, Fugazi, Nas, Nation Of Ulysses, Prophets Of Rage, Sebadoh and Shellac
The show broadcasts on Thursday 13 September at 11PM London (5PM Austin) with a fixed repeat on Tuesday 18 September at 6PM London (Midday Austin)
